Special Events
Planning socializing/networking, half-day or full-day special events throughout the year. For example:
- Legends Series - an event focused on learning from industry leaders.
- Knowledge Summit - an event dedicated to connecting Training & Development/Organizational Development professionalsresponsible for supporting business objectives and strategic results.
It takes the work of committed and loyal volunteers
to organize these Special Events. Your talents
in the areas of writing, marketing, event planning, fundraising,
creativity, curriculum development, speaker management, or vendor
negotiation are welcomed.

Membership
The Membership Committee offers many opportunities to meet other
learning and development professionals through the recruitment and
orientation process of new members and in the retention of our current
members. We welcome your ideas and talents in creating a stronger
and vibrant community and in making ASTD the preferred membership
of choice among learning and development professionals.
Mission: To recruit and retain a large, involved
membership.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
The SIGs are smaller-sized professional groups focused on one key aspect of the training profession based on current trends and best practices. Each group oversees its own ongoing development. Their titles are listed below. Our aim is to continually improving our efforts to meet the needs of our members. Look for updates on status and schedules of SIG meetings in your Discovery each month. Coaching SIG
The Coaching SIG welcomes business coaches (external), anyone
who teaches others to do business coaching (internal or external),
and managers and supervisors who are incorporating coaching
into their management style. The SIG's bi-monthly meetings
include discussions of best practices in coaching, resources
local and national, coaching each other (assisting with challenges),
and developing the understanding of coaching in the general

eLearning SIG
Through the E-Learning Special Interest Group (SIG), we will
develop a virtual network of training and development professionals
with similar interests and experiences. The Special Interest
Group is for training and development professionals interested
in sharing best practices, exchanging ideas, and exploring
the new frontier of e-learning. This informal group is open
to ASTD members and non-members. There is no charge to participate
in the SIG.

OD Circle
This SIG invites graduates of the Southeastern Wisconsin ASTD Certificate in Organization Development and others with at least one year of experience in OD work to join the special interest group. The lively group meets informally to network and to share best practices, resource recommendations, and research regarding OD topics such as change management, company-wide initiatives, consulting skills, team enhancement, strategic meeting facilitation, talent management and more. Return on Investment (ROI) SIG
The ROI SIG will be the premier vehicle to meet other members
of the Southeastern Wisconsin learning and development community
interested in evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of
training. The ROI SIG meets on the last Tuesday of the first
month of each quarter to share information and best practices.
Members post queries in between meetings on the Yahoo Groups
ROINet discussion group. This informal group is open to ASTD
members and non-members. There is no charge to participate

Technical & Skills Trainers SIG
The group facilitates the transfer of technical skills training
ideas between trainers of different organizations. Members
are encouraged to share ideas and findings by publishing in
the monthly newsletter, Discovery. This group is
committed to staying on top of developments in their technology.
