Workshop Description Are learning styles fad or fiction? How should you adapt graphics and words for different learners and different learning goals? Do interesting visuals improve learning? Are animations better for illustrating how things work than still visuals? What kind of engagement works best for learning? In this interactive workshop we will look beyond current training fads to discover and apply proven methods to support learning- methods based on experimental evidence and on how the brain processes information during learning. We will focus on evidence-based guidelines for use of graphics, text, and audio; design of practice exercises and use of different lesson design architectures. Whether you are a classroom facilitator, course designer, or e-learning developer, this workshop will reveal the latest scientific evidence for training modes, methods, and architectures that work. Objectives You will: - Apply evidence on learning styles to design visuals, audio, and text in your lessons
