The purpose of the Discussion Board is to offers you the opportunity to share ideas and build knowledge with other people who are involved in training and workplace learning and performance. Below are the guidelines for keeping the discussion board professional and valuable to all. Before posting to the Discussion Board, you must you are in agreement with these guidelines. Do’s: - Remember you’re responsible for the content of your message, including its reliability and completeness.
- Make your community valuable. The higher the quality of your comments and postings, the higher the quality of the exchange will be. Use terms that are familiar to most everyone in the field and spell out abbreviations.
- Add a subject line that is meaningful, such as: “Establishing consulting fees, what should I consider?” or “Need a teambuilding game source.” This will help another visitor to know whether they can respond in a meaningful way.
- Keep the message clear, concise, and include your direct email address for replies.
- Read your message over twice before sending it to be sure you have communicated accurately.
- Use standard email etiquette—use upper and lower case letters (not ALL CAPS), use spell check before you post your message, be sure the content is productive and helpful, and represents mutual respectful.
- Use the SEWI ASTD Job Bank to post training and other related positions.
- Use the SEWI ASTD Go To Guide to inform visitors about your products and services.
Don’ts: - Impersonate any person, whether actual or fictitious or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
- Use the Discussion Boards to solicit or to spam others. Those who do will be blocked from using the Discussion Board.
Do NOT Post: - Chain letters, pyramid schemes, junk mail, spam, or unauthorized advertising or promotional materials.
- Statements or material that is “off-topic” for a designated forum, i.e., anything that is not informational in nature and related to the topic identified for discussion in each forum.
- Files that contain malicious code, viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another’s computer, network, or this Site.
- Unauthorized copyrighted work or any other material that infringes on the intellectual property rights, trade secrets, or privacy of another. NOTE: Anyone who suspects copyright infringement should send a message to astd@globaldialog.com and identify the community, name of the posting person, and the date of the post.
The Discussion Boards are monitored. Should we find postings that are inappropriate for any reason, we will remove them from the Boards and possible block you from posting. Please contact us if you feel a posting does not fit the listed Do’s and Don’ts by sending an email to astd@globaldialog.com.
